Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Wind Tower Construction QA/QC Auditor. The role is being physically present at the construction site to perform the three phases of control and prepare documentation for each definable feature of work in their area of responsibility. This position will initially be based in Tucker, GA for 2-3 weeks of orientation, then assigned to projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce company safety and quality policies and procedures
  • Review installation and testing procedures to ensure all work performed is completed in accordance with manufactures quality standards
  • Conduct installation progress inspections and final inspections of wind turbines and components to ensure conformity with manufactures manual and quality standards
  • Develop clear and detailed audit reports based on on-site audits and present them to management
  • Document all non-conformities that arise through the site audits conducted
  • Responsible to verify job specific documentation such as checklist are being completed accurately
  • Manage punch list completion
  • Verify Tool Quality Control
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Three years in a quality control/assurance role, wind turbine experience a plus
  • Must have prior experience wearing a safety harness and climbing high elevations
  • Journeyman level Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical construction inspection experience is required
  • ASQ certification preferred
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints and technical instructions
  • Associate degree or technical school education preferred
  • Must be a self-starter, organized, detailed oriented
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with a team
  • Must be experienced in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and provide QA oversight for multiple contractors and craft
  • Knowledgeable regarding measurement and test equipment (MT&E) is preferred
  • Experience with erection Wind Turbine Equipment is preferable but not required
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 30
  • Must pass drug test, physical, and background check
  • Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and will walk on uneven ground.
  • Must have prior experience earing a safety harness and climbing 328 ft. towers
  • Tower Rescue Training or ability to pass working and rescue at heights training will be provided by company
